Trip back in time!

Painted Canyon Overlook
Teddy Roosevelt National Park
Billings County, North Dakota
Photographer notes:
When I reviewed these images I thought that I had a spot on my lens when I shot this. Upon further review, I shot this picture because of that spot. It was some type of bird of prey, LOL!

Photographer notes:
My co-pilot and navigator. Darth is so funny, most times when I go to take a picture of him he turns his head, like he wants his profile shot. As you can see, it is an effort to get him to look at the camera unless he is ready to!

The Hjalmer Lundstrom Ranch
North West of Flasher North Dakota
Photographer notes:
It took some doing, and I cannot thank Lonnie & Bonnie enough for making it happen! My main destination on this return trip was to try and get out to my grandpas ranch where my dad grew up, those two made my dream come true. A true humbling, emotional day! The last I was there was around 1966, 1967. Dad has just bought his 1965 Mustang and we drove that. Yes, I was around 6 or 7, and yes, I recall this home. Smaller than thought, but still the same. Garden out behind, wind mill and water, barn and outhouse. A tale I will share in a later photo.
Photographer notes:
In my recollection as a child, I thought there was a balcony at grandpas. After seeing this I realize it was the porch we sat on, and entered through the basement. I don't ever recall going in the front door other than the time John and I were hauling ass back into bed. Played a prank on dad and he was not very happy. Details below!

Plumbing at the ranch
The night John and I pranked dad!
Photographer notes:
To the left and towards the photographer in this photo sat the outhouse. Yes, outhouse. The ranch is in the middle of nowhere, and covers over a 1,000 acres. It is probably 40 minutes to Flasher, ND.
Anyway, the story. Dad would always go out to the outhouse around 11-12 at night. One night John and I thought we would play a trick on dad. So, we grabbed a little piglet from the pen, and just before sundown we put him in the outhouse and closed the door.

On cue, dad went out around that time. John and I slipped out to the upper front porch to observe. As dad opened the door to the outhouse, that little piglet came flying out like his ass was on fire screaming at the top of its lungs! Needless to say that scared the living shit out of my dad, hence John and I hauling ass through the front door seeking the bed for clemency.
